Meet Dr. Stutz
In 1995, Dr. Stutz was working as a driver for a hotel in Aspen, Colorado. One afternoon, he was rear-ended by a drunk driver and sustained a number of injuries, including three spinal compression fractures. Treatment consisted of pain medication, a back brace and three weeks of bed rest. While on bed rest, Dr. Stutz was amazed that no other treatment was offered and asked his roommate to bring him books about back pain from the library. One of the books explained the biomechanics of the spine and how chiropractic adjustments help with back pain. After reading the text, Dr. Stutz decided to try a chiropractic treatment (despite being extremely nervous). Three treatments later, he was virtually pain-free and decided that he had found his calling.
Upon completing his doctorate in chiropractic, Dr. Stutz continued his studies in the areas of traditional Chinese acupuncture, medical acupuncture, and pedorthics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, a Bachelor of Science and Doctorate in Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences, a board certification in Pedorthics from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, and board certification in Acupuncture from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
Dr. Stutz is currently the only practitioner in the state of Colorado that is licensed as a Doctor of Chiropractic, Board Certified Acupuncturist, and Board Certified Pedorthist. He uses his multi-field training to establish a firm diagnosis, which he feels is a lost art in modern medicine. The goal of treatment is to return the patient to peak status in as little time as possible and to give them the tools to prevent future episodes. Dr. Stutz favors a team approach when necessary, working with medical doctors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and team trainers. He has successfully treated individual members of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and U.S. Ski Team.
